Andrea* left Venezuela because of threats to her life. She travelled with her 3 children for 8 months through all of South America to reunite with her husband and try to build a life in Texas. She registered with Customs and Border Patrol, received an ankle monitor, hired a lawyer and waited for a court date, and was still deported to a third country.
Andrea* tells us she made the journey all migrants make, experiencing hope, pain, fear, sickness, kindness, violence, betrayal, and disappointment.
