Program Director

Tom began working in international solidarity in 1995 following a life changing trip to Nicaragua. He joined the current staff in January of 2018 and has worked with the Quixote Center twice before (2001-2008, and 2011-2014). In addition to the Quixote Center, Tom has worked with Witness for Peace, the East Timor and Indonesia Action Network, and the Rothko Chapel, where he coordinated public programs including the Oscar Romero Human Rights Award. He holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Maryland at College Park. Tom currently lives in Houston, where he also plays guitar for the bayou-grunge band Konkerute, and records his own solo work under the name Minivan Gogh.
