Over the last five months, as we and other solidarity and indepedent media organizations have reported on the egregious human rights violations and other anti-democratic measures committed by the illegal coup regime, that regime has sought to legitimize itself through the execution of the national electoral process originally scheduled for November 29th. The 8th Quixote Center delegation was in Honduras for that event. 

This report from COFADEH, the most prominent Human Rights organization in Honduras was released on October 22.  It includes violations reported to them which happened between July 16th and October 15th. It documents 21 assassination, four of those assassinated were teachers.  There were 4,234 denunciations of violation of fundamental liberties and there are 114 people who have been accused of sedition. 

 We thank everyone for their prayers for the Honduran people, and for our delegation this week. Our delegation will issue a more formal report after we return home, but informal notes follow in order to share a glimpse of what we are experiencing. While we are the sixth delegation in a series of international human rights missions since the coup on June 28th, we are the first religious delegation.
