Stop 30,000 Haitians from being deported

Stand in solidarity with Haitian activists in Florida and beyond. Email President Obama today and ask him to stay deportations by undoing the last administration's late-term policy reversal pending a review of U.S. immigration policy toward Haitians.

Federal immigration judges have ordered the deportation of over 30,000
Haitians. Haiti is saying NO to the United States by not processing travel documents. The Caribbean country is still rebuilding from the four hurricanes that ravaged them last fall.

These storms destroyed 15% of Haiti's GDP, the equivalent of eight to ten hurricane Katrina's hitting the US in ONE month.

The U.S. Government did stop deportations immediately after the storms hit in September, but the Bush administration abruptly resumed them in late December without notice or reasonable explanation.

Activists in the Miami area are organizing a demonstration this Saturday at
the Broward Detention Center where many Haitians awaiting deportation are being held.
